IAS (Retired) | Former Secretary, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India
Dr. Ramesh Chandra Verma, a visionary administrator and healthcare champion, was instrumental in establishing Government B.Sc. Nursing College in 2001. Having served in the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare for over 35 years, he recognized the critical shortage of professionally trained nurses in rural Maharashtra.
Under his leadership, the college was conceptualized, approved by the Indian Nursing Council, and affiliated to MUHS. His vision was to create an institution that would provide world-class nursing education to students from economically weaker sections of society, particularly from rural and tribal areas.
